THE PULSE
Alpha 4.7.1 is live, 4.72 drops in roughly two weeks with expanded solo content, and 4.8 is now confirmed for end of May — approximately six weeks out — carrying the most org-level combat content Star Citizen has ever shipped. Tactical Strike Groups, a multi-crew fleet mission requiring coordinated assaults on Vanduul space stations, represent the first time CIG has built a mission loop that structurally cannot be soloed — and everything from ship loadouts to plasma grenades to extraction infrastructure is being built around it. The economy is about to split into two tiers: orgs that can run strike groups and everyone else.
MARKET MOVES
1. Tactical Strike Groups — The Org Economy Arrives
CIG confirmed Tactical Strike Groups for 4.8: a large-scale cooperative mission chain involving trench runs against Vanduul Marauder ships, generator destruction, shield takedowns, weapons platform elimination on Vanduul space stations, and captive extraction under fire. This is explicitly not soloable — it requires multi-crew ships and fleet-level coordination. The mission structure creates demand across every ship role simultaneously: fighters for the trench run, heavy hitters for generators and shields, gunships for suppression, and transport-capable ships for the extraction phase. Action: If your org isn't already running multi-crew combat drills, you're six weeks behind. Start identifying fleet composition gaps now. Hammerheads (getting Gold Standard in 4.8), Retaliators, and Vanguard variants are the obvious combat picks. The extraction phase likely favors ships with interior space for NPC boarding — Cutlass Black, Freelancer, Valkyrie.
🔒 MARKET MOVES 2–5 covering QV Extraction Station logistics, Kesar plasma grenades and the expanding plasma weapon meta, defend-location passive income loops, and the Hammerhead Gold Standard + Ironclad ship positioning — plus WATCHLIST plays on multi-crew ship demand, the plasma ecosystem, and the emerging fuel economy — RISK WARNINGS on org accessibility barriers and 4.8 scope risk — and the ALPHA THREAD on why organizational infrastructure is the real alpha play for the rest of 2026 — all available to Loot Report RECON+ subscribers.
